Plamen Milev is an Associate Professor at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia, where he teaches and conducts research in the field of information systems and applied computing. He earned his PhD in 2012 in the scientific area Application of Computing in Economics with a dissertation on “Impact of Database Design on Modern Business Applications”. His academic interests include the design and development of web-based information systems, data modeling, data-driven media analysis, and intelligent content indexing. He has authored numerous scientific publications focusing on programming, systems architecture, and computational approaches to digital media. Dr. Milev has participated in multiple research and educational projects at national and international levels. He currently leads the university project “Media Intelligence in the Digital Age”. His recent work explores the application of automated data collection and text analysis techniques – such as web scraping – to the study of online media ecosystems. Dr. Milev is a member of the “John Atanasoff Society of Automatics and Informatics”. He has over 20 years of professional experience in computer programming, which informs both his academic teaching and practical research approach.
