Yuhao Zhuang is an Associate Professor (maître de conférences) of Strategy at Toulouse School of Management, Université Toulouse Capitole. He is also a member of TSM-R (UMR 5303), CNRS. He is a research associate at the Sustainability & Organizations Institute (HEC Paris) and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Center (emlyon business school). Yuhao obtained a joint PhD in Sociology and Business from the University of Chicago. He was a visiting doctoral student at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Yuhao’s research centers on strategies under political constraints. He studies why some organizations and communities act despite political risks, polarization, and inequality while others do not, and how acting under such constraints builds advantage. His empirical settings span impact-driven firms, nonprofits under hostile states, and communities in the world’s poorest regions. His work combines qualitative, quantitative, and experimental methods.
