Hanken School of Economics, a public university based in Helsinki and Vaasa, Finland, was founded in 1909 and is one of the oldest business schools in the Nordics. It is home of approximately 2,620 students, 180 academics and 125 non-academic staff. Hanken is an internationally accredited (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), research-oriented business school. Hanken is the only stand-alone business school in Finland. It prides itself in strong connections to business and has invested in supporting entrepreneurship. The university maintains close links with the corporate world and promotes social responsibility and sustainability in all its functions.
