Hi, I am a postdoc at Tilburg University, the Netherlands with background in urban planning and public governance. My research interests broadly concern climate change policies, social justice, and governance of (urban) transitions. In my postdoc within BOLSTER project, I study the regions that have gone through successful economic transitions in the past: North Brabant (NL), Cluj (RO), and Basque Country (ES). I am curious to learn how the regions transform their economy towards decarbonization; what governance structures are needed; and whether such transitions decrease/exacerbate inequalities.

Theoretically, I'm delving into new materialisms to scrutinize how transition policies materially shape the governance networks, and how the non-human agents, such as knowledge and technology, affect the power structures. Methodologically, I'm enthusiastic about experimental, engaged, or art-based research practices, for example, through the application of creative writing techniques or utilizing artistic tools to gather data.

I obtained my PhD at the School of Spatial Planning, TU Dortmund University in Germany. I was engaged in the Horizon2020 research consortium on shrinking cities (Re-City ITN). I explored the role of culture-led regeneration in such cities. By focusing on the cultural sector - one of the most ‘marginalized’ policy sectors in shrinking cities – I was able to unpack the diverse and significant contributions of culture to urban governance in cities, where local governments have precarious resources and capabilities.

I am excited to collaborate on research projects, writing project proposals, and organizing workshops. Please, feel free to teach out to me.
