Université Toulouse Capitole
5th-year Ph.D. Student
I am completing my Ph.D., and am in my 5th year. My primary research focus is time literacy, and I am a member of the Human Resources / Organizational Behavior Track at the Université de Toulouse - Capitole School of Management in Toulouse, France.
My research focuses on time in all its various manifestations—time perception, perspective, management, poverty, etc. The list is endless!
I recently completed an updated version of a scoping review on time perception and time perspective, using new SCOPUS research tools. It is in preparation for journal submission. In paper two, the focus is on highly educated, highly protocol-driven professionals (doctors, lawyers, and accountants) who work in complex contexts such as emergency rooms, courts, or accounting firms. The aim is to see whether these individuals use time differently from the "man on the street," and, if so, how and why? In the end, the aim is to contribute research that helps develop programs that enhance people's personal and professional well-being.
I authored and led a six-session workshop on time literacy entitled "MAKING TIME." Participants learn the difference between "calendric" or "linear" time and "ontological time." Graduates report having more time and experience, and feeling more accomplished.
To complete my Ph.D. I will be leading a five-day intervention program for Staff and Faculty who are responsible for student well-being at their institutions, from July 6 to 10, 2026, at Toulouse Business School. Please check to see if your institution is part of the BIP Program from Erasmus and contact me for information. We would love to have you.
