Rachel Maina

PhD
I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist with competence in mental and brain health clinical work, capacity building and research spanning 9 years. I am currently pursuing a PhD on neurocognitive measures in relation to adapting and testing the psychometric properties of an I pad based neurocognitive battery. My interests are in cross-cultural psychology where integration of culturally aligned neurocognitive measures in LMICs is a first step. I am working with a broader picture of integrating culturally aligned cognitive recovery in LMICs. I have conducted my neurognitive research within resource limited settings and in populations with HIV and stunting due to malnutrition. I now look forward to integrate my knowledge in the ADRD population. I also have experience in leading research projects including grants management and field work. With the neurocognitive knowledge and research expertise, I plan to support the cultural alignment of the neurocognitive tools, community engagement and overall implementation of projects.
